Lidless Airtight Storage-Containers

How did you come up with the idea for this product?

It all started on a hot summer’s night when Sarah and I were getting ready for some grilling and chilling out on our deck. I was prepping our tasty food with my awesome, homemade, 11-season spice rub and ran out of it halfway through. Since I like to clean up as I go along, I had already put everything away. I had to dig all of my jars back out of the cupboard, and since all my herb and spice jars have those silly shaker tops on them, I needed to pop them all back off because they are always in my way! The jars are so narrow I get frustrated every time I need to level a spoon off, and don’t even get me started on all those lids! Screwing and unscrewing over and over again.

Then it hit me like a bolt of lightning! A thought came to me that would reshape the way I looked at storage jars forever. Lids – who needs them? Let’s blow them off the tops of the jars that we use every day; as for the skinny and tall shape of the jars? The shape is good for stocking store shelves, but not good for modern-day cooks. We took those tall spoon snubbing jars and made them shorter, wider, and so much better! The rest is history!

What has been the best part of your experience?

Our products do cost a little more, and they get it, when you invest in something of quality you buy it once, and won’t let you down. The fact is, we are on a mission to blow the lids off the storage industry, and when we do, we plan to reduce single-use containers to extinction. Then “gently nudge” and encourage “consumables” product manufacturers to ship things in minimalist sustainable packaging; our planet needs this!
